OVERVIEW

Ever consider serenading the birds and bears of the Blueridge with your twangs and tunes? Want to wake up early, jaunt to some rocks, and play those blissful melodies?

Let’s get as many instruments as can come for a sunrise jam sesh and breakfast in the Shenandoah mountains. The plan is to leave at 5:30 from the Alderman bus stop, before the buses get going. From here we will drive to Black Rock Summit parking lot (about 50 minutes away). We should arrive at 6:20 with enough time to make the 1/2 mile walk with instruments and food. We can post up with instruments, hammocks, coffees, and breakfast stuffs for a couple hours then pack up and turn around. I expect we will be back by 9:30 or 10 for those of you who have classes, whatever those are (ha!). If there are several cars, we may be able to send a car back to Charlottesville “on-time” (9:30 arrival) and others can stay.

For those of you do not play an instrument, this is still an awesome trip! Come listen to people play away as you jump from rock to rock, chill, or eat some breakfast. For you climbers, there are some good rocks to practice your crimps, clings, and pinches. More the merrier!

I’ll bring bagels and cream cheese.

As always… drivers get priority.

Things to bring:
Instrument, if you have one
Good vibes
Layers of clothes
1-2L of water
Hammock
Blanket
Decent shoes
A breakfast “stuff”

NOTE! This trip is subject to weather, as musicians do not want to get their instruments wet.
