OVERVIEW

Community hike with local Sierra Club.

Sunset from a beautiful rock outcropping atop a mountain summit.
Refresh your week by injecting this fun and natural exercise right into the middle of it.

Humpback Rocks, Blue Ridge Mountains
2 miles total (1 up, 1 back)
720 feet elevation gain (steep). This 30 or 45 minute cardio workout should clear out any clogged arteries, and reward you with a spectacular view and the dinner you pack.
The most relaxed-pace hiker (the caboose) will carry one walkie-talkie while hiking at minimum pace 3 out of 5; Leader will carry the other one while hiking at pace 4 (out of 5).

Meeting / departure location is on Jefferson Park Avenue (JPA) at the Free Trolley bus stop just before that bus turns right onto Maury Avenue. It’s the bus stop that’s near the northeast corner of JPA and Maury.

This adventure starts out with everyone waitlisted, and then as drivers sign up, folks will get off the wait list. Last hike I posted had 39 people wanting in at one point; ultimately, between drivers in and droppers out, everyone got in.

Drivers needed and greatly appreciated (~51 miles total). Drivers please arrive with completely full tank of gas; you’ll score a filled-up tank up on return plus a 30% tip. The more drivers, the bigger we can grow the size of this trip to let in any waitlistees. Thanks!
