Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Abingdon, VA
Ever wish that the trail was all downhill? Well, the Virginia Creeper Trail can make that wish come true!
We will cover the 34 mile converted rail trail over two days. Saturday’s ride will be a gently graded downhill lasting about 15 miles. Saturday night we’ll find a nice spot to camp in the Mount Rogers National Recreation Area. We will cover the remaining miles on Sunday over easy and mostly flat terrain (ok, so it’s not ALL downhill)
Besides the long downhill, the trail offers a variety of spectacular scenery, refreshing swimming holes, and 50 bridges and trestles. The Creeper Trail should make for a fun and relaxing trip.
Cost for the trip is $15 for a shuttle plus some cash for lunch on saturday and food on the way back home. I’m setting the group size to 3 but will welcome more depending on how many drivers sign up. Since we will be camping, be prepared to carry a pack with some camping gear. (depending on how many join we may not have to carry gear with us)
Please email me with any questions. Hope you can make it out!
