Howdy shredders!!!!!
Welcome back! We are so back. I have decided that for my first trip of the semester, I will lead the exact same trip I kicked off last fall with. Is it a lack of creativity or a love of tradition? The world may never know.
Anyway… this trip is a beginner-friendly and very awesome hike in one of my favorite areas of Shenandoah. We will be venturing to White Oak Canyon in SNP and hiking to a natural water slide. WOOOO SO COOL!
We will be leaving from the Echols Dorm corner at 9:00 am and driving north to the White Oak Canyon Lower Trailhead. We will arrive around 10:30 am and hike/swim to our heart’s content. It is about a 3 mile out and back. At the latest, we will start hiking back at 2:00 pm to be home before 4:30 pm.
You should bring:
– Lunch/snacks
– Water (about 2 liters)
– day pack
– Towel if you wish
– clothes to swim in
– any important medical/personal items
We will be bringing:
– sun screen
– bug spray
