My personal intentions:
Friday: Meet at Echols at 3:30pm get on the road by 4 pm. Drive to Ray’s, set up camp, chill out, relax, eat, bon-fire.
Saturday: Breakfast, set shuttle, put-on around 12 noon, have a blast paddling, spend most of the day on the river.
Sunday: Breakfast, set shuttle, put-on around 11am, run the river, hopefully off by 3ish and get on the road, eat somewhere on the way home.
CAMPING: Ray’s campground $9.00 per night
There’s commercial rafting trips available on the New River Gorge, you can inquire about those here:
The Club’s summer allotment no longer covers food or camping during summer trips, so please bring food and or extra $$$ to cover these expenses.
Boats & Gear, YOU are responsible for bringing all necessary paddling and camping gear for this trip. Please let me know what you need and I will try to assist you.
You should bring: several warm non-cotton layers, river snacks, water, change of clothing, towel, dry clothes, sunscreen.
TRANSPORTATION: My little car can carry: Four boats, paddling gear, camping gear and two people total, at least one other driver will be needed for shuttle. (Club summer allotment for gas is $150.00 max.)
I am NOT “leading” on any of these rivers, I am only coordinating some logistics and transportation to the rivers, you are responsible for your own safety and the activities you choose to participate in while on this trip, and you agree to have read and will abide by the American Whitewater Safety Codehttp://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Wiki/safety:start?
