New Year’s Advanced Kayaking Extravaganza

OVERVIEW

What better way to bring in 2016 than driving around the Mid-Atlantic chasing waterfalls (or slightly wet/frozen rocks), camping under the stars (or on some friends couch), and putting on completely frozen kayaking gear for 7 days straight? If this sounds appealing, then join this trip.

We will be heading out to find class IV-V advanced whitewater, with default locations being the Tellico area in Tennessee, Asheville area in NC, or somewhere in WV.

IT WILL BE COLD! I have done this trip in the past and we are guaranteed to be paddling on rivers and creeks that are nearly frozen. If you do not have the appropriate cold water gear, then you will be severely limited in what you can paddle on this trip.

Because of the frigid conditions and the level of paddling we will be doing, if you do not have a solid combat roll and experience on class IV creeks and rivers then I cannot let you come on this trip. If you are unsure, please ask and maybe we can coordinate something else. I will be waitlisting everyone who joins, and if enough intermediate paddler’s join then we can arrange a secondary kayaking trip.
