NRG Overnight Climbing!

OVERVIEW

Note: end time depends on when you want to be back! I’m personally trying to be back around 4pm

Let’s go to the New River Gorge!

It’s so warm now and I enjoy not working on my homework so let’s climb!!!! I’m hoping to leave at 8:30 on Saturday and drive to the New River Gorge. We will climb at Bubba City (tentatively) on Saturday (probably around noon) and camp at the American Alpine Campground.
Then on Sunday we will go to 2 Bridge Buttress and climb till we decide to drive back to Charlottesville. There will be staggered departures depending on when people have to be back — most likely one group will leave early afternoonish, another in the late afternoon. We can get you in the car that works best for you~

To go on the trip you should have intermediate top rope experience outside, and be able to climb 5.8. Bubba City has a good mix of grades for routes but 2 Bridge Buttress’ lowest top rope grade is a 5.7.

You bring:
– harness
– helmet
– climbing shoes
– belay device & locker
– sleeping bag
– sleeping pad
– water!!!!
(LETS GO TO TUDORS for BISCUITSSSSS)
– brekky, lunch (x2), dinner (x1 or 2 depending on when you’re leaving), snacks
– bowls and utensils

We bring:
– ropes
– quickdraws
– anchor material
– tents
