NRGE Day Hike at old Coal Mine?!?!?

OVERVIEW

Heyyo! This is gonna be my first time at NRGE so I’m hoping to cook up a pretty good day hike. Apparently theres an old coal mine here? And this trail runs thru/near it? And we should hopefully be able to see a good view of the bridge with the route i’ve picked. I’m pretty stoked to hopefully see some good views and explore a new place.

This hike is 6.2 miles with 1200 ft of elevation. I’ve marked it as beginner as I don’t plan on going for a record pace and we can def take some stops.

Schedule:
9:00 am depart from campground
9:20 am arrive at trailhead and depart
hike hike hike
1:00 pm arrive back at the cars at the latest (i imagine the hike will be shorter but i’d rather overbudget than underbudget time)
1:20 pm back at campground

To bring:
At least 2 liters of water
hiking shoes
poles if you want/have
snacks/lunch if you want to eat on the hike
layers (avoid cotton, it will probably be cold being end of october and near a river)
