NRGE: Saturday climbing

OVERVIEW

Hello, my fine granola loving outdoors folk. Have you ever wanted to scale magnificent sandstone cliffs? Have you ever wanted to impress your friends with your ability to hang from a door frame merely by the tips of your fingers? Do you feel a strong urge to leave behind the classroom to touch rocks?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, you may be eligible to join climbing connoisseurs John and definitely-not-old-man siggy for an intro to climbing trip at the New’s Junkyard Wall.
This is a NRGE trip meaning once you are let off the waitlist here, you should sign up for the NRGE main carpool trip.
This trip is beginner friendly! We can teach you the basics of climbing throughout the day. We will be climbing at Junkyard Wall, which has a multitude of top rope climbs for climbers of all levels.
Things you must bring, which can be acquired at the gear room.
-Climbing shoes
– food
– water
-jacket
– small gloves (if the rock is cold you’ll want them)
-Climbing Harness
– Climbing Helmet
Things we will bring:
– First aid kit
– ropes
– quickdraws
– trad rack
Finally my disclaimer statement: we reserve the right to “ground” anyone who we think is being unsafe. Examples include not paying attention while belaying, throwing rocks, fooling around near cliff edges etc. This is a serious sport and we want everyone to be as safe as possible.
