NRGE Shredward Bound: Advanced Mountain Biking at Douthat

OVERVIEW

Greetings shredlings,
Time for the traditional pre-NRGE pitstop to ride at Douthat State Park. This trip will not be driving back to Charlottesville after we finish biking. We will continue on to NRGE and meet the rest of the crew at Ray’s campground in West Virginia.
Prior mountain biking experience is necessary. The trails will be covered in leaves and are technical. Exact route TDB but expect around 10-15 miles with a couple thousand feet of elevation gain.
In addition to signing up for this trip please also join the general NRGE carpool on the website and specify that you will not be leaving with the general carpool. The fee for this bike trip is $0, but the cost of the nrge trip is $10.

What you bring:
-phone with trailforks and/or mountain bike project apps downloaded. With Virginia downloaded
-Bike light/ headlamp. I’m not planning on being out after dark but you never know.
-bike shoes and weather appropriate clothing
– bike gloves
-snacks and water for the ride
-Change of clothes for the rest of the car ride
-All personal camping gear needed for the weekend (club officers will bring a sleeping bag, sleeping pad, and tent to share if you need these).
-Food for the weekend (with the exception of Saturday night dinner which will pizza at the campground)

-a cute dog
-car with bike carrying capacity
