**Nrge Splrge** Friday Int/Adv Mountain Biking in the Ole George Washington

OVERVIEW

What better way to kickoff the new New River Gorge Extravaganza than by shredding some of the tastiest singletrack in VA? With the help of each of you shredders and your vehicles, we’ll maximize the amount of trail riding for this Friday afternoon.

Shredding is a practice never perfected, yet always perfect. This is a great opportunity for newer bikers to experience longer trails with bigger climbs and more rocks. To be efficient, we’ll be splitting into groups depending on time constraints, skill level, desired shreddiness, and shuttle possibilities. Who really wants to ride road when trails be plenty?

The plan is to head out as early as people can, ride trails and drive people down roads/up hills to other trails or to facilitate more downhill riding. Just before dark, we’ll continue on to Ray’s campground and join up with our fellow outdoorsmenites for merriment and imbibing. Stay until Saturday, stay until Sunday, it’s all gravy, baby.

Reddish Knob: Insanely technical downhill trail

Narrowback: Smooth downhill with rocky ridge riding.

PLAN ON BRINGING:
-All camping gear needed for NRGE and other adventures
-Meals for the weekend (Free Pizza Baby)
-Bike+ helmet (club can provide)
-2-4L water + backpack
-Snacks
-Spare tubes
-Misc repair stuff
