OVERVIEW

What up paddlers!

Ned, Milos, and I have been itching to get to the New since last year so we’re gonna head up to WV next weekend and run dis betch. The New River has multiple class IV rapids, and therefore you need to be an experienced paddler in order to come on this trip (All will be waitlisted until I have confirmed that).

Plan is to leave Friday evening around 5 (When I get off work) and drive up to Ray’s getting dinner somewhere along the way (~3.5 hr drive). Then we rock and roll in the morning, putting in at Cunard and taking out at Fayette station (See American Whitewater description of the river here: http://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/detail/id/2418 ). Plan is to pack a lunch and take it slow on the river since we have all day (Or maybe we’ll run 2 laps). Then in celebration of my 21st name day, we’ll go to Pies and Pints in town for some pies and pints. Back to Ray’s for a good old fashioned campfire and good times. Sunday morning we’re gonna head over to Kanawha Falls and have some fun running those waterfalls, and then head back home, leaving around 12 or 1pm.

What you need to bring: Clothes for hanging out in, clothes for kayaking in, sleeping bag, sleeping pad, water bottle, towel, etc.

What the club can provide: Any paddling gear you may need

Food: Pretty simple on this one, we’ll need to get breakfast for Saturday and Sunday and Lunch for Saturday (And maybe Sunday). All of the other meals will be out

Fee: However much it cost’s to camp at Ray’s (I forget)

Fun: Mandatory
