**Nrge Trip** Saturday Hike in and Out of Gorge!!

OVERVIEW

Hey team!

First off, this is a New River Gorge Extravaganza (NRGE) trip. If you want to come on this expedition you need to be signed up for the general NRGE carpool trip! We will be leaving and returning to Ray’s Campground in West Virginia, not from UVA.

ANYWAYS….

This hike is a combination of two lovely hikes from the Grandview Rim trailhead. First, we’ll hike the Little Laurel Trail (3 miles) down from the parking lot into the gorge, and back up! It may be short, but this trail has 1,400 ft. of elevation change! Once finished, we’ll saunter along the neighboring Grandview Rim trail to this lovely complex of ridge-top observation decks that afford us massive views of the gorge! That trail is something like 1.5-2 miles round trip. Meaning the whole shebang will be a 4.5-5.0 mile endeavor.

We will leave Ray’s around 9:30 or 10:00am on Saturday at the latest (though if we’re all ready to roll earlier than that, then that’s great!), drive and hike, and then return for an evening of tomfoolery and good times. No idea on exact time of return, but that’s ok. The party won’t have started until we return anyways!!!!!!!

If you have another car, I’ll give you wait list priority! I can drive 5 including myself.

Regarding food, everyone should bring some goods for brekky & snacks, but we can also easily stop somewhere on the way *****Biscuit World***** for those who just want an easy out. Since we have a pretty leisurely day, I see no reason to rush anything.
