Free Tuesdays that I don’t use appropriately means I can seize the day at Old Rag…. ideally with a bunch of you!
Old Rag is an iconic, scenic, fairly difficult hike in the Shenandoah. It is stunnin. Everyone needs to buy a $2 ticket, but I have a SNP pass for one car, so we’ll worry about the total cost later. Looking for drivers!
here’s the plan
6AM-Leave Echols for Trailhead (early start time to beat the crowds and get parking)
8AM-Arrive at Trailhead
8AM~1/2PM-Hike!! (plus lunch/snacks)
4PM-Back to Echols
What to Bring:
At least 32 oz of Water
Snacks and/or Lunch- enough food to make it through the hike and the day
Hiking boots or sturdy sneakers
Layers – It will be slightly cooler in the morning and windy at the top!
