Old Rag Sunset Hike. Driver Needed

OVERVIEW

It is peak foliage color in the Shenadoah National Park, which means that it is the perfect time for an Old Rag hike!

DRIVER IS NEEDED! Driver will be reimbursed for gas with a 30% tip. At the moment I do not have a driver and I will have to cancel this trip unless I find one by tomorrow night. A driver will immediately get off the waitlist for this trip. I am also willing to push back the start time for this trip if it will make it more feasible for driver’s schedules. For 3rd and 4th years, Old Rag is a must do hike if you haven’t done it yet. It is easily considered one of the must popular hikes in Virginia due to its awesome rock scramble and its breath taking views of the Shenadoah valley.

About Old Rag: About 8 miles. Includes a very fun 1-mile boulder-hopping section, to a mountain summit’s spectacular 360-degree views. About a 2,500 ft elevation gain.

Game plan: Meet at Echols at 2 pm. It is about an hour drive to get there. Be on the trail around 3. It takes about 2-3 hour climb to top. Sunset is expected around 6 pm, but I am hoping to get to the peak before then and enjoy the spectular view while eating dinner. We should be back by 9-10 pm.

If you need a headlamp, be sure to check one out from the gear room sometime this week.

Also, I don’t have a Shenadoah Park Pass, so it would be great if someone could bring theirs along.
