Slaughter Climbing Center
Slaughter again oh myyy
Slaughter Recreation Center, Edgemont Road, Charlottesville, VA, USA
Why helloooo our dearly beloved outdoor-roving humans. Anusha, Ella, and I were pondering how connecting with our local land, trees, rocks, mud, minerals, and life brings us comfort amidst challenging times like these, so we wanted to make space for us to commune with the outdoors — and each other — however we need to for ourselves. We shall gather by Slaughter at high noon on Saturday, then tromp through our beloved homemade trail to ohill, whence we can split apart if desired or stay together. This will be a space to connect with the woods however you want — making art, journaling, running, hiking, hammocking, sitting, covering yourselves in dirt, socializing, tree ID-ing, foraging, tree hugging, music-creating, singing, and jam sesh-ing, and onwards. We’ll have a group of hikers for those wanting to be around people, free space for those apt to roam, and snacks + tea + deep appreciation for you all.
If you’d like to do one of these activities but don’t have the materials or gear to do so, just let us know in the trip questions or text/email us and we’ll find a solution 🙂
We’ll finish up around 2pm and continue reveling in the world however we feel called to throughout the day. Bring layers, a vessel to receive tea if desired, and anything else you may desire! We can’t wait to see all you amazing people there <3
