PEAK WEEK super autumnal sunset hike/picnic!!!!

***THIS HIKE WAS RESCHEDULED FROM 10/15 TO 10/22*** but it will be even better this time bc it is PEAK WEEEEKKKK BABY

Hi fellow fall lovers <33 if you’re anything like me, pumpkin cream cold brews and the imminent arrival of fall foliage are the only things getting you through midterms season. What better way to celebrate the BEAUTIFUL Virginia autumn than a fall-themed sunset hike?!? We will be having a lil picnic at the top of the Hawksbill Loop, where we’ll listen to Maggie Rogers and enjoy pumpkin/maple/other fall themed snacks. here are the deets on the hike: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/hawksbill-gap-loop. This loop is pretty short and rated as moderate so anybody should be able to do it 🙂

Schedule!
3:05: meet @ corner of Echol’s dorm
3:15: get to Trader Joe’s and acquire autumnal snacks
3:35: leave TJs and head towards the park, appreciating the fall foliage along the way 5:05: begin our ascent. We will be hiking at an easy pace because I am a little out of shape
6:15ish: arrive at the top to beautiful pink skies; eat our snacks/dinner while enjoying Julia’s fall playlist & one another’s company
7: leisurely descend the mountain
9:30: back @ grounds

What you need:
A lil $$ for snacks
A backpack in which to store snacks
Water
Perhaps a blanket to sit on
A headlamp for the descent (you can check one out from the gear room!!)
Hiking shoes
A SWEATER and maybe even some sweatpants for the summit; very important, I almost froze on my last sunset hike 🙁
A love for folk pop music

DRIVERS NEEDED Drivers will receive priority off the waitlist, reimbursement for gas, and a 50% tip!!! Plus driving along Skyline Drive is AMAZING in the fall

SHENANDOAH PARK PASSES NEEDED If you have an annual Shenandoah National Park Pass you will also get priority off the waitlist!! I do not want to pay yet another $30
