Pisgah: It’s Not Just For Bikes – Pisgah Fri Beg/Int WW Kayaking

It time to go down to Pisgah again and believe it or not, the trip isn’t just for bikers. The WNC area boasts some of North America’s best paddling and golly gee we’re gonna shred it up. Per usual with whitewater, the current plan is jangly and loose. We’ll plan to either run a section of the Nantahala River (class II+) or the French Broad (class III). The loose plan is to accommodate potential signups – if we have a more beginner group, it’ll be the Nanty, while a more experienced group could tackle FB9. If signing up for this trip, it is recommended you have some sort of whitewater or kayaking experience. Tell us about it in the questionnaire! We’ll prioritize more experienced paddlers so we can focus more on-river attention towards the couple less experienced fish we’re likely to get. Otherwise waitlist is first come first serve.

Timeline
– meet at camp 9am friday – finalize plans
– go paddling
– back at camp by like before sunset hopefully

What to Bring
– Kit! Helmet, PFD, Skirt, Paddle, Watercraft, throwbag if ur cool
– it will be chilly(?!) drytop, drysuit, wetsuit, clothes that will be warm when wet
– a lunch/snacks? water for sure
– a bag for dry stuff if you’re into that
– change of clothes and towel if you’re into that
– money for food maybe
If you don’t have those kayaking things or warm things, that’s ok. Just let us know and we’ll make sure you get em.
