OVERVIEW

Who: When even am I?
What: (Sport) Climbing
Where: Pisgah NF
When: Saturday (3/25) All day
Why: Touch rock

Howdy y’all,

Waitlist Notes: Once you sign up for this trip, go sign up for the main trip, you have to be on both waitlists.

Logistics Notes: Since this is a multi-day trip down to Pisgah, you’ll need something to do every day, this means you could go climbing every day, or mix and match with other sports. I’ll have to manage the group so that everyone is doing something every day (assuming you’re not cool and don’t want to climb every day).

If you haven’t heard about the super rad trip down to Pisgah in NC, go check out the main trip description. This is the climbing portion of that trip for Saturday, my plan for this day is to do some fun sport climbing at the stone depot crag of Cedar rock. While this crag is pretty out of the way, I figure we should have the place to ourselves, along with some nice and long multi pitch routes. The ones I’m looking at are between three and five pitches, so it should be a great time to get long multi pitch practice and fun.

Climbing Notes: This is the sport climbing day which means a lot more people can do the lead climbing, but I will need to manage the group so that we can properly climb. My plan is to have two groups of two since multi pitch with odd number is rather hard. This means that priority will be given to at least one person with multi pitch leading capabilities for the other group. And the other two people should at least be willing to learn, lead belay, and follow the leader.

Crag Notes: I’ve just done some preliminary looking on mountain project and found some cool places near where we’re camping. Since I’ve never been here, I’m open to any suggestions if you find a cool place to climb that isn’t too much of a drive away.

YOU BRING:
ya climbing stuff (helmet, harness, shoes, chalk)
trad gear if you have it
food and snacks for the day
at least 2 liters
appropriate clothing to be outside all day

I’ll BRING:
ropes
stick clip
draws

I think that’s all, but text me if you need anything.
-Joseph
