POKEMON GO IRL?! Friday Birding @ Ivy Creek!!

OVERVIEW

Do you like nature?? And animals?? Or perhaps you’ve always wanted to capture Pokemon IRL??? Then come BIRDING with us this Friday and let’s catch (or look at) em all!!!

Why go birding, you may ask? Here’s my sales pitch for you:
1) Birding is a great way to connect with the natural world and anyone can do it, no matter the skill level!
2 )If you go birding, you forever have a cool fun fact you can flex at parties or whenever really 😎

We’ll be going to Ivy Creek, which is is only 15 minutes away with great short and easy trail loops and a great birding hotspot with many species. Birds are most active in the morning, so we will be leaving just after sunrise to have the best chance of seeing some nice birds. Several of the trails go out to the river, so we will try to see some water birds as well!

The plan:

7:15am- leave Echols
7:30– start walking and BIRDS

9:00 – leave Ivy Creek

9:15- back @ Echols with the feeling that ur a super duper cool human cuz you went birding

**The gear room only has three binoculars so if you have binoculars or a camera with a zoom lens definitely bring them, but you can also share binoculars or even try to identify bird calls by ear**

Recommended: download the Merlin Bird ID app which can identify birds based on image, description, or sound!

What to bring:

- binoculars if you have any!
-water perhaps

-clothing layers
-most importantly, your amazing self
