On this week’s installment of my biweekly Shenandoah hiking series, we’re gonna be hitting Chimney & Calvary Rocks loop, and maybe Blackrock Summit afterwards, depending how long we take at Chimney Rock. As with last time, I have a car and a Shenandoah National Park pass, so at least four people are covered.

Rough timeline:
11:00 am – Leave corner of echols
11:45 am – Arrive at Trailhead
12:45 pm – Reach the top
1:45 pm – Back at Trailhead
2:00 pm – Reach Blackrock
2:30 pm – Summit Blackorck
3:00 pm – Back at trailhead
4:00 pm – Back at Echols
What you should bring:
> 3 L of water
> Food/snacks
> Hiking boots (or at least closed-toe shoes)
> Bug spray
> A bag
> Camera if ya want
What we’ll bring:
> First aid kit
> Cars
> One national park’s pass
