Little Stony Man Hike, Skyline Drive, Virginia, USA
Well, I’ve been slowly losing my mind over the past few days as a CS major who’s already starting to look for internships (thanks companies for making this cycle start earlier and earlier every year!), so what better way to take a little break from the stress of life than to spend Sunday hiking up in SNP. As with last time, I have a car and a Shenandoah National Park pass, but this time my co-leader Finn is also bringing his SUV, so we can fit another 5 ppl. However, we are still looking for another person with a national park pass, so anybody w one gets priority off the waitlist.
The plan is to do a couple slightly longer hikes in the middle section of SNP – the plan as of now is Little Stony Man (all trails: https://www.alltrails.com/ar/trail/us/virginia/little-stony-man-loop-via-appalachian-trail) and the Rose River Falls Loop (all trails: https://www.alltrails.com/ar/trail/us/virginia/rose-river-trail), both should be ~3 miles and 10:00 am – Head out from Corner of Echols
> 11:30 am – arrive at little stony man
> ~12:30/1 – top of little stony man, take a little break, eat lunch, enjoy the view
> ~1:30-2 – out of stony man, head down the road to Rose River falls
> ~ 5 – out of rose river falls
> 6:30 pm – Back in cville, we can grab food if y’all want, or just drop y’all back home
What you should bring:
> 3 L of water
> Food/snacks
> Hiking boots (or at least closed-toe shoes)
> Bug spray
> Rain jacket in case of scattered thunderstorms (~30%)
> A bag
> Camera if ya want
What we’ll bring:
> First aid kit
> Cars
> One national park’s pass
