Bonnycastle Circle
Walnut Creek Park
Ever wanted to learn to whitewater kayak? Well here’s your chance! This class is designed to teach you the very basics of white water kayaking, to prepare you for future river adventures. We’ll spend 3 hours on Wednesday on the lake at Walnut Creek Park before the Creekathon learning such skills as the wet exit, basic paddle strokes, T-rescues, and the Eskimo roll. Hopefully we will have time for some games as well!
Let’s meet at Bonnycastle Circle at 1pm on Wednesday to head down to Walnut. This will give us plenty of time on the water before the Creekathon kicks off.
Max number is set at 6, so that you get as much one-on-one attention as possible from Bob Weaver and myself. Also, I will give preference to those that have never taken this class from Dave Clark, but please sign up regardless.
**Please sign up for the Creekthon trip as well, and indicate that you will be riding down with this trip.**
You bring: bathing suit, non-cotton layers, towel, clothes for the creekathon afterward, snacks, water
Club provides: kayak and all gear needed, instructors, gas $$
