Pre-Raft Backpacking Overnight in Wv

OVERVIEW

Are you signed up for the rafting trip during fall break? Would you like to go for a backpacking overnight the Saturday before we raft? Then this trip is for you!

We’ll be heading out relatively early Saturday morning. A specific destination is yet TBD, but we will be setting up camp in West Virginia, probably either in Monongahela National Park, where Dolly Sods is located, or closer to the rafting site near the New River Gorge. We’ll be hiking both Saturday and Sunday before meeting up with the rest of the rafters at ACE Adventures.

Expect good views, good food, and good company in wild and wonderful West Virginia on this one – the foliage should be in its full autumnal glory!

Club provides: dinner Saturday, breakfast and lunch Sunday, gas, seat in a car, and any camping equipment you may need.

I will send out a recommended packing list closer to our departure. Remember to pack anything you will need for rafting in addition to your camping gear (we will be leaving rafting stuff in the cars…no worries). PS. I’m waitlisting only and then will add attendees as drivers sign up. Probably will cap the trip size around 10 people.

PPS. Please note that this trip is for people who are ON the rafting trip. If you are not on that list, I will not let you on this trip for logistical reasons.
