I am feeling festive and hoping to take a quick visit to Shenandoah to watch the sunset before the ODC bonfire Thursday night. We will take the short, sub-1-mile trail to Blackrock Summit to catch the sunset. There is also a cute little rock scramble at the top which is nice.
I also plan to make some dinner (mashed potatoes and Vienna sausages?) at the top, so if anyone wants to bring tea/hot coco/mashed potatoes/ramen/oatmeal or some other tasty snack, they are welcome to use my stove. I’ll probably walk to the Shred Shack once we get back but you are welcome to do whatever floats your boat after.
*Drivers and those with SNP passes get priority off the waitlist*
I have a car and a SNP pass, but if others on the waitlist have cars or passes, I can add more people!
THE PLAN: Thursday, October 20
5:00 PM- leave Echols
6:00 PM- hike
6:40 PM- hangout. watch sunset. eat.
7:00 PM- leave for C’ville
8:00 PM- back to C’ville ready to bonfuego (optional)

Layers. More layers if you think you’ll be cold
LIGHT —> it will be… DARK after sunset, so please bring something to see with on our hike back to the parking lot!
