Ragged Mountain Natural Area Trail Construction

OVERVIEW

Hey everyone!

Do you have a little bit of time to spare this Saturday and want to help establish an awesome new Charlottesville park? Then come on Saturday to the Ragged Mountain Natural Area for a little Trail Building! We’ll meet at the graveyard side of Echols dorm at 8:30 and drive out to the new Natural Area. It’s only about 15 minutes away from here! We’ll work from 9-3, and then head home to UVA to be back around 3:15 or 3:30. We will be working as part of a larger group there to help the city of Charlottesville construct some new public-use trails. This is a great opportunity to do some really meaningful work that will have a lasting impact on our community!

The club provides $5 per person for food, so I’ll use this to buy some snacks for all of us (like granola bars and apple sauce). Still bring something bigger for lunch, though.

What you need to bring:
-Water (2 liters)
-Lunch
-Work Shoes
-Appropriate Work Clothing
-Shovels or Rakes (if you have them)

The trip is limited due to drivers, but if more people with cars sign up then it will be expanded.
