OVERVIEW

Hey silly geese! Do you have the overwhelming urge to be on a body of water in the dead of winter like I do?? Well, if so, you should join Mitch and I for a chill paddle out on Ragged Mountain Reservoir this Saturday morning. It’ll be quite a chilly day with a low of 26 and high of 43, but if the weather doesn’t scare you away, it’ll be a lovely way to start your Saturday. We will provide both stand up paddleboards and kayaks, whichever fits your fancy, and can provide cold water gear if you think you’ll be taking an accidental swim. (Also, if youre interested in whitewater at all, this is a great trip to join because me and Mitch can answer all your whitewater related questions during our peaceful flatwater paddle!!!)

Itinerary:
8:00 – meet at corner of echols dorm, organize/grab kayaks/sups in cars and head to ragged mountain
8:30 – unload at ragged mountain and have a relaxing paddle out on the water
10:00– take out and load back up
10:30 – everyone back to grounds full of pristine paddle vibes

You bring:
– WARMMMMM enough clothes that you don’t mind getting a little splashed in – Ragged mountain is a generally calm lake and as long as you are comfortable paddling the craft of your choice, it is unlikely that you will take an unexpected polar plunge
– An extra set of WARM clothes, shoes and a towel in case you accidentally fall in (likely this wont happen, but if it does you dont want to be in freezing wet clothes post fall)
– Shoes that don’t mind getting a little wet (depends on how warm you like your toes, sandals/barefoot is great too)
– Water bottle and a snack if you so choose
– Your best calm and pristine paddling vibes

We bring:
– A kayak/sup of your choice
– Paddle + PFD + (kayak skirt if you would like it)
– Cold water gear (gloves, skull cap, wetsuit, booties, drysuit) if you would like it

Depending on type of watercraft people choose to take, and interest, drivers may be requested! In this case, drivers will get priority off the waitlist.

Hope to see you out there!
– Mitch and Jade
