Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
Torry Ridge
The weather gods decided to not like us this past weekend as far as rain, but it looks like next weekend is going to be absolutely beautiful. Tell your parents that parents weekend is actually a bad time to visit and come hiking instead! This time we’ll actually go instead of just thinking about going, although saying that may jinx us with the rain again. Here’s the hike description one more time.
Torry Ridge is in the George Washington National Forest and it has both beautiful mountain vistas and multiple stream crossings. It’s about a 9 mile loop hike that we’ll do in the counter clockwise direction (sorry to all of you who are OCD). This way we’ll get the climb out of the way first and hopefully be up on the ridge by lunch time for some beautiful scenery while we munch on our sandwiches.
What you should bring: lunch/snacks, good footwear, water (at least 2 liters), some layers since it might be a little chillier up on the ridge
I’ll open the trip up to more people as more drivers sign up.
