OVERVIEW

Oh HELLOO FRIENDS!! Who wants to get jiggy in the mountains and go show em our love?? Maybe specifically by speed-walking up hills and running down em and slurping periodic apple sauce as we move???

Imma be harking to Shenandoah this Saturday for a very cheellll mountain run, so here ye all runners / movement enthusiasts! This is a trip for those with experience moving across long distances at an above-walking clip, BUT I also want it to be a space for everyone, so if you think you may wanna go but aren’t sure, put it in the trip questions and we’ll touch base! Here’s are the deets:

We’ll hark a 20-mile loop around the Austin, Furnace, and Trayfoot mountains near the AT in central Shenandoah. The whole run has around 4,700ft of elevation change, and here’s the link to the Alltrails to check out pics n the map! We’ll be walking the uphills and running the downhills and pausing here n there if we feel called, and I’m anticipating averaging around 12-14 minutes/mile. We may become slightly separated as a group (as often happens in mountain running), so we’ll all go over the map together before hitting da trail – it’s a pretty simple loop to follow.

ANDDDD HERE’S DA TIMELINE:
6AM – converge at corner of Echols OH HELLOOO MORNING!!
6:09 – embark into the wondrous land of calm Appalachian mountainsss
7:30 – runwalkjumpskiprunwalksomemore!!
12-12:30 – back in cars, and back to grounds by 1/1:30 to have a groovvin day

We’ll each bring a few layers, water to carry on the run (let us know if you need a carrying mechanism in the trip questions!), and a few snacks to munch on as we go – I swear by Mott’s gummies, but there are so many tasty options and I’m happy to scheme with anyone who be pondering their own snacks/gear.

Although this run is longer than most, the atmosphere will be very relaxed and accepting, so feel free to pop on the waitlist and we can talk about it!!! There is also an option to make the loop only 12 miles if you’re called to do that and don’t mind waiting by the car for a lil bit for us 20-milers. 😉 I can’t wait to COMMUNE with the woods with you WONDROUS HUMANS!!!

**THOSE W/ SNP PASSES BE GETTIN PRIORITY OFF WAITLIST!!**
