OVERVIEW

Helllooo my fellow creatures of the Earth, ever wonder what to do when we have two full days of no schooling?? WELL COME JOIN ED AND I TO WALK IN OUR GREAT OUTDOORS!!! We shall strut, jumble, hop, sashay and mosey around the Rip Rap loop in Shenandoah, set up camp for a night under the finest stars Virginny has to offer, then rumble back to Cville Tuesday morning!

This is a beginner-friendly backpacking trip where we’re looking to have fun and hang out, so sign up regardless of your backpacking experience!! The RipRap loop is 9.3 miles with gentle grade, a few boomin peaks, and opportunity to add-on if we’re feeling it. ALSO we shall convene after a few days of rejuvenating rain sooo….anyone else thinking we hang out with our beautiful clay soil and concoct some HOMEMADE CERAMICS???

A map in case you want get even more stoked about the trip: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/riprap-trail

We’ll gather at the corner of Echols at seventy-five minutes before high noon (10:45 AM) Monday morning, upon which we shall rumble to SNP, hop on the trail around high noon, and have some fuunnnn!!! Depending on how speedy we’re feeling we could be back Tuesday morning, but we’re putting 2 PM here just in case we want to hang out a bit. We are also looking for one more driver, so DRIVERS WE LOVE YOU and you get priority (+50% tip!!)!. If you have an SNP park pass, you also get PRIORITY WOOOT.

You’ll want to bring gear for an overnight. Ed and I will bring some water filters, so no need to grab those if you don’t have them already. You can stop by the gear room for anything you need Mon-Thurs this week. Also bring some goood snackies for the night and Tuesday mornin, we endorse tortillas and peanut butter with our lives. And uno mask for the car!

Here’s a little checklist:
backpacking backpack (not your school one!)
sleeping bag
sleeping pad
head lamp
2L water
rain gear
extra clothes + socks
toiletries
1 dinner
1 breakfast
stove and fuel if you will be cooking dinner of bfast
3-4 substantial snacks
mask for the car
a swimsuit?
A TENT or hammock
note : the gear room stocks 2P and 4P tents. If you get a tent that’s bigger than 1-2P, consider if you’re comfortable/willing to tent with other people (that way you can each carry a little less weight)

We’ll make a group chat as the time nears, but in the meantime if you have any questions, feel free to text me (856-952-5395) or Ed (434-326-888) :):).

WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU ALL THERE AND CONNECT WITH OUR AMAZING DOORS OF OUTS!!!
