Corner o' Echols
also corner of echols (or wherever your heart desires)
Wildcat Ridge Trail, Virginia, USA
Classes are finally over, and my brain is officially fried. If you also need a desperate break from studying and staring at screens, come join me for a day in the mountains! We’ll be tackling the Riprap Trail, a ~10-mile loop with roughly 2,100 ft of elevation gain. It’s the perfect way to clear your head and celebrate surviving the semester.
Since the leaves are down, we’ll have amazing unobstructed views of the valley. We will also encounter several stream crossings, so prepare for wet feet if you aren’t careful!
Note: Since this is a small group, drivers will get priority off the waitlist.
Timeline:
10:00 am – Pick Up
11:00 am – Park at Trail and get started
4:00 pm – Finish Hike and drive back
5:00 pm – Land back at Echols or wherever u need to be dropped off at
What to bring:
At least 2L of water
Lunch and plenty of snacks
Backpack
Hiking boots or trail runners (waterproof is a plus for stream crossings)
Layers (It will be cold!) and a rain/wind shell
A love for nature (and freedom from exams!)
