Rise Up Climb Time this Sunday

OVERVIEW

Since it’s looking pretty freakin’ cold for outside climbing this Sunday, why not spend an afternoon shredding plastic problems and your fingertips in the amazing indoor playland called Rise Up Climbing Gym in Lynchburg, VA!!!

Another reason to go this weekend is that Rise Up is hosting an ABS Bouldering Comp next Saturday (12/11), so it might be a good idea to check the gym out and get used to their setting style if you’re planning to compete.

I plan to be bouldering exclusively this Sunday, but they also have a toprope wall available for anyone who already has the knowledge and equipment to toprope. Just keep in mind that there WILL NOT be any belay instruction on this trip.

In order to go bouldering, all you need is climbing shoes and a chalk bag, which can be rented at Rise Up for a few bucks extra. If you plan to toprope, you’ll also need a harness and ATC.

The entrance fee to climb is $9. Bring a little extra cash for food afterwards as we might stop somewhere. Priority goes to drivers…and remember, gas will be reiumbursed!
