Rivanna River Tire Clean-Up: Canoe/Kayak/Shred – Rescheduled

OVERVIEW

Trying to paddle down a river and pick up tires. Weather for Sunday looks righteous, so let’s flunking do it.

If you’ve ever been in the Rivanna River, you know 1. how gorgeous it is and 2. how much trash (i.e. tires) is dumped there. I say we all take some shredamphetamines and with our blood pumping and pupils dialated, clean up some of the mess left behind by totally unrad people.

This upcoming Sunday morn’, we’ll head out around 9am with canoes, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, jet skis, shredbeams, and special shoes (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oe3St1GgoHQ) to shred down a section of the Rivanna. Right now, I’m thinking Profitt Rd to Riverview, but I may extend it so we can get a little more shredding in. If we get out early, plan to be back around 5 at the very latest.

If I can get more drivers (specifically trucks or cars with roof racks), then we could get a bunch of you little shreddies on the water.It all depends on drivers. Everyone shall be waitlisted until I get another driver.

Bring:
-water shoes or bare feet
-bathing suit
-2L water
-lunch (we could make sandwiches at my place if you throw me some bones)
-fishing pole (if you want to catch your own lunch)

Don’t Bring:
-open cuts on your hand
