Rivanna Trail
Our first trail run was awesome! Its snowed the night before (weird!) but was warm(ish) by the time we hit the trail, giving a neat, highlighted look to the trail on the ridge behind O-hill.
For this trip, we will explore the trail as it goes on the other side of Fontaine. We will run down alderman to fontaine, then cross over and take the rivanna through wooded ridges, open pastures, marshy lowlands, and even a bamboo thicket, emerging at Azalea park and taking JPA ext. back to home base.
This run will be about 5-6 miles depending on if we want to tack on the park service loop to see rare trees or not. We’ll decided that the day of the trip. Please come well hydrated and ready to run. Please be comfortable running this distance and try to keep to an 8 min/mile pace. There are still runs to come, but this looks to be a great one due to the diversity of the terrian we will cover!
Also, do let me know of any irrational fear of cows you may have.
