Rock Climbing Day Trip at the New!!

OVERVIEW

Dying to climb at the New, but can’t blow off school work for an entire weekend, then this trip is perfect for you. The weather on Sunday is looking swell, 70s and sunny!

We’ll be climbing at the Junk Yard Wall and/or Bridge Buttress as they have ridiculously short approaches (less time hiking and more climbing). They have a ton of trad climbs in the 5.8 to 5.10 range so this is an intermediate trip and you should know how to top rope belay.

To maximize our day we will leave at 5am and get there a little after 8am. We’ll climb all day and then leave with the sun around 8pm.

What to bring:
-Climbing Helmet
-Climbing Harness
-Belay Device
-Climbing shoes
-Chalk bag w/ chalk
-Water (at least 2 liters)
-Rain gear
-Light jacket
-Snacks/breakfast/lunch/dinner (we won’t be stopping)

What the Club Provides:
-Gas
-Gear, if you need it (go to an open gear room, if you don’t have something)
