from www.kywilderness.com :
“The Red River Gorge geological area is located in Eastern Kentucky and is world renown for its climbing scene. ‘The Red’ as it is known to climbers, boasts well over a thousand recorded routes! Everything from 5.2R to 5.14a rated routes have been put up at the Red. If you come to the Red to climb, you can experience all facets of modern day climbing, including easy access to some good top-roping, aid climbing roof systems, traditional cracks of all sorts, multi-pitch classics, and vertical to severely overhanging sport climbs! It’s a climber’s dream come true, and the scenery ain’t so shabby either.”
