Rocky Mountain Loop

OVERVIEW

Spring is here and if you still haven’t cured your cabin fever or itchy feet come out Saturday for an awesome hike. We’ll take Skyline drive to mile 77 and head in the woods. The Loop is 9 to 10 miles and goes around Rocky and Brown Mountain. We’ll get to see the tops of both mountains and the largest stream in the Shenandoah. We’ll grab lunch either at the top of Brown or by the stream depending on whether we go clockwise or counter-clockwise. Trails.com rates it as one of the best walks in VA but we’ll go and see for ourselves instead. All hiking levels are welcome.

We’ll start by meeting infront of Echols dorm Saturday from 8:30 to 9:00 and then hit the road. We’ll probably be back in C-ville by 5:00.

For the trip we’ll all need to bring water, snacks, layers, hiking boots, and cameras. If you have a car please bring it, the more the merrier. The club will pay for the gas and the ticket into Skyline.
