Come on out to the best rock climbing destination on the East coast with the best people on the East coast. No lie.
This trip will leave from Ray’s Campground early on Saturday morning. The New River Gorge is a pretty gigantic place full of different climbing opportunities, so we’ll meet beforehand to discuss which area we would like to conquer for the day. The rest is simple: climb climb climb til’ your arms fall off or the sun goes down, whatever comes first. Then head back and commence with your evening bibations, if you’re not too sore to move.
The trip is open to beginner climbers and above, but please be aware that very low level climbs are difficult to find in the NRG. Please be able to cleanly climb 5.8 or above on top rope. Sport climbing skills are a plus.
For you to bring:
At least 2L water
Proper clothing with layers to fit the temps
Sturdy shoes
Climbing gear a.k.a. harness, shoes, chalk (which can be provided by the Outdoors Club gear room- please pick up at your own convenience)
Food (lunch, plenty of snacks)
You should already have transportation to the NRG Campground, as well as all your camping materials. This trip does not cover travel from Charlottesville, nor camping necessities.
