OVERVIEW

**FOR CREEKATHON ATTENDEES ONLY – you need to be off the waitlist for the main carpool in order to attend this trip**

It stands as an objective truth that Sunday’s were fundamentally created for people to do trail runs. Maybe you survived another crazy, busy week of class and saved your entire weekly mileage for Sunday. Maybe you did your long run on Saturday but still want to move your leggies for a couple hours on a new trail system, or you want to get your jitters out before you head to the library once you return to grounds. Maybe you just want a satisfying engagement with the forest ecosystems before indulging in whatever food and socializing Creekathon provides us with.

Regardless of why you believe Sunday’s are for trail running, Simonne and I implore you to come join us on one of our fav running loops at the ‘nut. As seen in the photo for the trip, Walnut Creek Park has the most ridiculously wiggly trail system ever, which makes it fun, but also makes it slightly more technical than some other trails! The loop we are going to go on is about 8 miles long and does a nice job of covering most of the park — we can also totally find some other loopies to add on if people want to do a few more miles! Maybe we can take a quick dip in the water if we’re feeling up for it – only time will tell.

If you want to see the route/average pace we ran it last time, here is an old strava post from it: https://www.strava.com/activities/4049110448
(keep in mind that the trails at walnut creek are pretty rocky and twisty, so defo factor that in when considering whether or not you are able to finish this loop at a consistent pace!)

We will just head out from the main area of Creekathon first thing once all attendees of this run have arrived! I don’t think it will take more than 90 mins max, but who knows. Just bring yourself and your running shoes and be ready to go! No drivers needed because we will already be there via main carpool!

With trail spice + lots of love,
Simonne and Eliza
