So the last time I was on a bike was 5 weeks ago in Moab when I took a little tumble. Life’s been all over the place since so I’m only now getting back on the bike and somehow my hand still isn’t fully healed. Putting these two factors together, this might end up being a beginner trip for me too. Regardless, the weather is incredible (unlike the 110 degrees in India) and I totally haven’t led a single beginner trip this semester so shame on me but I’m excited to finally get around to getting some new(ish) people on bikes!
We’ll ride out to Ohill and get started with a beginner loop, and can try out some easier blue trails too depending on people’s comfort levels. We’ll keep it slow and take lots of breaks. The only prerequisite for this trip is the ability to ride a bike. You don’t need to know anything about biking on trails or mountain bikes, but it’ll be assumed you know the basics of riding a bike.
If you don’t have your own mountain bike or helmet, let me know on the trip questionnaire and we’ll try to secure you a club bike/helmet. Everyone will be waitlisted for this trip initially and depending on bike availability individuals will be taken off the waitlist accordingly.
What you need:
– Water
– Gloves (optional)
– Closed-toe shoes
– Weather appropriate clothing
What the club will provide:
– Bikes
– Helmets
The plan:
9:30am- meet at the shred shack a grab a bike for everyone
9:45am- Ride up O-hill
11:00am- back at the shrack
