Saturday Hike – Bear Church Rock

OVERVIEW

Do you like bears and/or churches?

I’m not sure if this hike actually has either of those but if you are itching to get out this weekend for a hike with waterfalls, swimming areas, and a nice view at the top, this is the hike for you!

We’ll leave for the trail with full tanks of gas around 10:00, drive for about an hour to the parking area, hike at whatever pace you’d like up for a little over 4 miles to the top (I’d personally love to go for a swim along the way), take in the view at the top, and then retrace our steps back down to the parking area. We will stop for lunch somewhere along the trail (I was thinking at the top would be nice) and probably take some breaks along the way. The hike should take about 5-6 hours so I plan to be back in Charlottesville around 6:00 PM.

Things you will need:
– At least 2 Liters of water
– Sturdy shoes you can hike ~8 miles in
– Whatever snacks/lunch you would like to consume along the way

DRIVERS ARE NEEDED!!! Drivers will get reimbursed for gas plus 30% tip and will have priority off the waitlist.

Everyone will be waitlisted until we have drivers. I’d love for around 8-10 people to be able to go with me on this adventure!
