Saturday Riprap hike

OVERVIEW

It has been agessss since I have explored the Virginia views so I wanted to do a nice day hike on Saturday! I will also be going to the Mt. Joy concert that night so there should be plenty of time to get back and get ready before then if you’re worried about Saturday evening/night plans. There are also a few stream crossings and apparently some waterfalls??? so depending on the vibes we may stop to dip our toesies in the water hehe. Should be fun!!

The route (according to AllTrails) is 9.3 miles with 2100′ vert. We won’t be setting speed records, but this is a fairly long hike so make sure you’re up for that. Here’s the link to the AllTrails: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/virginia/riprap-trail?sh=jt6qla

Drivers will be prioritized. Drivers get full reimbursement for gas + 50% tip. Show up with a full tank of gas to be reimbursed.

Things to bring:
-Sturdy hiking or trail running shoes
-Layers (check weather)
-Lots of water (2 liters minimum I’ll probably pack 3)
– Snacks/lunch

Approximate Schedule:
8:00 AM Arrive at Corner of Echols Dorm
9:00 AM Arrive at Riprap trailhead
2:00 PM Off the hike and hitting the road
3:00 PM Get back to cville
