Saturday Sunset Hike!!!

OVERVIEW

I haven’t been on a sunset hike in way too long so I figured this would be great for my first trip as a trip leader! As a Shenandoah Valley native, I can confirm that this short 1.1 mi hike rivals Humpback for the best sunset spot. I do not have a car, so drivers will get priority off the waitlist and gas will be reimbursed. I also have yet to renew my SNP pass, so anyone with a national park pass will also get priority off the waitlist!!

Itinerary:
4:00: meet at echols dorm
4:15: embark on our journey
5:15: arrive at the trailhead
5:45: reach the summit and climb around on the rock scrambles
6:00: sunset !!!!
6:15/6:30: hike back to parking and depart
7:30: arrive back at echols dorm in time to party the weekend away

What you need:
-layers (it will be cold Saturday–around 35-40 degrees)
-headlamp for the hike down (phone light works fine, the hike is short)
-snacks/blankets/other sunset-watching or stargazing essentials!
