Savoring the Flavors of the New River (Intermediate WW Kayak!)

OVERVIEW

Hello Shredizens!

Before fall boating begins in earnest, let’s savor the joys of summer one last time with a classic low water lap down the Lower New (Cunard to Fayette Station: https://www.americanwhitewater.org/content/River/view/river-detail/2418/main)

This trip is best for whitewater kayakers comfortable running at least class III+ rapids with a working roll. It is NOT a rafting trip! If you’re a confident canoeist or SUP professional, this could be for you as well. Regardless, this is not intended as an instructional trip. I am not leading people down the river, simply facilitating the lap(s)/giving basic beta + common rescue courtesy. You are responsible for your own safety.

The Planz:
10am: Meet at Shrack, go get you gear from the WW locker if needed, bomb to Fayetteville
1:30ish: Arrive at Fayetteville, set shuttle, paddlleee!!!!
??: We’ll probably plan on at least a twoish hour lap? or multiple? We can see what time people want to be back by and plan accordingly. I wouldn’t expect to be back any earlier than 9pm though, just to be safe.

You Bring:
– Yer boatin stuff. If this is unclear, trip is not for you.
– Items of sustenance to ensure no starvation/dehydration
– Proper clothing for boatin and 3 hour car rides

I Bring:
– Boatin gear for you if you need
– The stoke
– A surprise friend who will help w/ shuttle
