Do you sometimes feel like a marmot without its winter coat? If so, let’s get some blood pumping by making our way out to Heyward on bikes! We’ll cover about 10 miles or so on trails and roads, constantly on the look out for these mischeivous little marmots. This trip is for intermediate mountain bikers so the prerequisites are that you have been on at least ~3 beginner mountain biking trips and feel ready to level up a bit OR are already a relatively experienced mountain biker.
If you don’t have your own mountain bike or helmet, let me know on the trip questionnaire and we’ll secure you a club bike/helmet. Everyone will be waitlisted for this trip initially and depending on bike availability individuals will be taken off the waitlist accordingly.
What you need:
– Water!! (Either a bottle that will fit in a bottle cage, or bring a small backpack/hip pack to hold it)
– Gloves (optional)
– Closed-toe shoes (vans/flat shoes work great)
– Weather appropriate clothing (don’t recommend wearing baggy pants bc they can get caught)
What the club will provide:
– Bikes
– Helmets
The plan:
– 1:00 meet at the shrack and get bikes ready
– 1:10 bike to the community forest!!!!!! (DISCLAIMER: we do NOT have marmots)
– ~3:00 get back to shrack and put bikes away
– George
