Sendsville, USA – Population: you (Manchester Wall Intermediate Top-rope/learn-to-belay)

OVERVIEW

Folks,

NRGE is right around the corner and you know what that means! Heartwarming hootenanny, frenzied frolicomeness and whimsical wandering are in your near future. In addition, you may find yourself 60 feet off the deck, desperately clinging to a sheer sandstone wall with chalked hands as your legs start to tremble uncontrollably. If you haven’t been out on rock in a while and want to get those outdoor climbing jitters out before hittin the gorge, come on out to Man Wall for some grade A ascension.

Climbing experience is not required for this trip, however, those with some top-roping experience who are eager to learn more will get priority off of the waitlist. We will hopefully teach anyone that wants to learn how to top-rope belay. Depending on everyone’s level of experience and timing there may also be opportunities for people to learn to lead climb, lead belay and clean sport routes if they’re interested!!!

We’ll meet at echols at 7:30am, drive about an hour to Richmond, and climb until around 4 pm. After that, depending on what everyone’s up for we can grab food, swim in the James, go thrifting, or just head home. We’ll aim to be back no later than 7, though I imagine it will be earlier.
