Service Trip—Remove Invasive Species in Scottsville’S Mink Creek

Does this b-e-a-utiful weather have you extra thankful for Mother Earth and craving more time enjoying her bounty while giving back? Then here’s the opportunity for you! The James River Association has organized a cleanup of Mink Creek in Scottsville (just 30 min away from C’ville). In an effort to restore the creek’s eroded banks, the JRA recently installed over 1000 native plants and they now need our and other volunteers’ help in removing the invasive species that threaten them!

Plan:
Meet at Echol’s at 9:15. Meet up with the other JRA volunteers at the Exxon in Scottsville by 10 AM. Beautify Mother Nature to our hearts’ content until we head back around noon.

Club provides:
– Gas reimbursement + 50% tip for drivers
– Gloves and some gardening tools

You bring:
– Shoes with good traction
– Waterproof boots if you have them
– Water
– Any gloves and/or gardening tools that you may have
– Your beautiful smiling faces
