Long week this week? Can’t make it to NRGE? Look forward to ending it with a beautiful sunset at Stony Man in SNP!! This will be a short (~1.5 miles total) summit hike so very beginner friendly. Hopefully we can get some great views of the fall foliage too 🙂
The plan:
3:45: Meet at Echols dorm and head out
5:30: Arrive and start hiking
5:50/6: Summit the mountain, sunset is scheduled for 6:09
6:30 or whenever: Go back down
~8:00: Get back to Grounds!
What to bring:
– Water
– Headlamp or flashlight as we will be going back in the dark, you can get one from the gear room!
– Layers as it will probably be chilly
– Food if you want to eat dinner there
– Backpack to carry above things
– SNP pass :):)
Drivers and people with SNP passes get priority off the waitlist, and drivers receive gas reimbursement + 50% tip!! $5 fee is just in case we end up needing to buy a park pass.
