Echols Dorm: Brick Wall By Side Door
The Sherando Lake Recreation Area lies within the scenic Blue Ridge Mountains and is one of the most popular recreation areas in the George Washington National Forest. It has several hiking trails from easy to moderate and a great lake where you can swim not being prosecuted by fixed lifeguard eye ;). We will hike either the Cliff Trail, which takes hikers above Sherando Lake or a moderately graded 2.5-mile hike up to the Blue Ridge Parkway (it depends what trailhead we will managed to find first). Then we will swim in the lake (probably it will be the last weekend when going out of water you will be not covered by ice peel 😉 ) and go back to C-ville.
The club provides: Gas refund or a place in a car, the park entrance fee.
You have: water, snacks/lunch, swimming stuff if you intend to swim, camera if you are an imagemaker.
