OVERVIEW

We will be heading out to Snowshoe Mountain for the weekend! The mountain offers 57 slopes in 4 different ‘territories.’ The plan is to leave on Friday and ski Saturday and Sunday (if you’re interested). Snowshoe is one of the best ski resorts in the east and it’s always one of the best trips of the year. (www.snowshoemtn.com)

There are some cross country ski trails at Elk River, so if you are interested, please sign up! You can find more info here (http://www.ertc.com/skitrails.cfm). We have XC skis that you can use.

Unlike past years, we will not be staying in Cass, WV. Instead we will be staying at Elk River in one of their slick cabins. These cabins are nicer and closer to Snowshoe. We will still be putting a good number of people on the floor and will have a raffle type thing to give away beds.

YOU PAY:
There will be a $10 lodging fee because this place is expensive. Lift tickets will be $48 for Saturday and may be $60 on Sunday if not enough people want to ski on Sunday. Ski or snowboard rentals will be done at Elk River Ski and Snowboard (http://www.ridesnowshoe.com/rates.htm). If you make a reservation online, you save 10%. Finally, you will pay for your lunch on the mountain and any food you get going to and from West Virginia.

THE CLUB PAYS:
The club will pay for some of the lodging costs and breakfast and dinner on saturday and sunday breakfast. The club will also provide snacks for the mountain. The club will also pay for all the gas to get to the mountain.

YOU SHOULD BRING:
Layers of clothes for skiing. It gets cold up there!
Warm hat
Sleeping bag and pad
Money for lift tickets, rentals, and food in transit

THE CLUB PROVIDES:
Sleeping bags/pads if you need them
A car for you to ride in

Please sign up even if there is a waitlist — typically lots of people drop at the end so there’s a good chance you’ll get to go if you want to.
